Sil Vanilla Studio is the creative studio of Argentine designer Silvana Rossi, a textile and surface pattern designer whose work is rooted in a lifelong fascination with color, nature, crafts, textiles, and the beauty of the everyday. With a background in Fashion and Textile Design from the University of Buenos Aires, Silvana has always moved naturally between disciplines, exploring the relationship between objects, pattern, interiors, and the handmade. Her creative path has included textile and fashion design, home decor, handcrafted objects, and years of working with products and spaces, experiences that continue to shape the way she approaches pattern today. Rather than designing patterns as isolated decorative elements, Silvana builds little visual worlds around them, layering flowers, leaves, fruits, berries, botanical forms, folk-inspired motifs, playful graphics, and unexpected details into compositions that feel collected, personal, and full of character.
At the heart of Sil Vanilla Studio is a love for patterns that feel both nostalgic and contemporary. Silvana draws inspiration from botanical gardens, vintage textiles, old illustrated books, folk art and traditions, childhood memories, and the imperfect charm of things made by hand. Her aesthetic balances whimsical and sophisticated, decorative and playful, often combining earthy or softly muted palettes with richer accents and expressive forms. Florals and botanicals are recurring elements in her work, interpreted in many different ways, from delicate vintage studies and ornamental compositions to bold graphic motifs and charming, storybook-like gardens.
Sil Vanilla Studio is ultimately about creating patterns with a sense of place, personality, and possibility. Silvana designs for people who appreciate interiors and objects that feel warm, individual, and thoughtfully collected. Her patterns are intended to bring a little more joy and imagination into everyday surroundings, whether they appear on a quilt, a curtain, a piece of clothing, wallpaper, a cushion, or a handmade object. Today, Silvana is focused on developing her independent pattern library while building relationships with fabric, wallpaper, home décor, and lifestyle brands around the world. Through Sil Vanilla Studio, she hopes to create work that can live beyond the screen: patterns that become part of someone's home, creative practice, or everyday life, carrying with them the warmth, curiosity, and slightly whimsical spirit that defines her work.
Hello! I'm Sil. I love creating prints and patterns from my drawings and doodles, and playing with colors. I’ve always been fascinated by folk art and handmade crafts, whether it’s ceramics, textiles, woodwork, jewelry, basketry, embroidery, or other traditional creations. Whenever I travel, visiting local folk art fairs is one of my favorite experiences, and I realize that this love for artisanal traditions deeply inspires my work as a pattern designer.
My creative path has always been rooted in a passion for craftsmanship and design. I co-founded Obra hecho a mano, a home decor and accessories brand that promoted amazing Argentinian artisanal products made with natural materials such as chaguar and llama wool.
Later, I created Zöld, a brand of geometric terrariums and glass home decor objects.
Eventually, I ran CASA OZ, my own home decor shop in Buenos Aires’ Palermo neighborhood for six years. It showcased not only my products but also the work of local designers, including ceramics, accessories, jewelry, wall art, and home decor, alongside books and plants.
I’ve always been captivated by the beauty humans create through their hands, as well as the astounding beauty present in nature. Natural materials, folk art, craftsmanship, botanicals, and visual arts are constant sources of inspiration for me.
I’m eager to take on pattern design projects for textiles, apparel, wallpaper, and home decor, as well as illustration work for stationery and paper goods. I’d love to collaborate with brands and companies that appreciate handcrafted aesthetics and whimsical, stylized, nature-inspired visuals.
